Cambodia, or officially the Kingdom of Cambodia, is a country in Southeast Asia, bordering Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. The country’s name is derived from the word Khmer, which is also how the Cambodian population and their language is called.
Among tourists, Cambodia is mainly known for being the home of Angkor Wat, a stunning temple complex that is on many people’s bucket list and often visited for sunrise. However, the country has so much more to offer. Cambodia has a rich history and culture as well as friendly and hospitable locals, which makes it a delight to explore this country more in-depth!
We spent 2 weeks travelling Cambodia, visiting not only the stunning Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, but also a bat cave in Battambang, the salt and pepper fields in Kampot as well as Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia!
